Unity Candles symbolize the joining of two families and two lives
joining
into one new family and a new life.
Traditionally the mothers light the mother's candles or the tapers
whichever is chosen and the bride and groom then take the tapers and either
light them from the mothers candles or just take the tapers and light the Unity
candle. The tapers are then extinguished and the Unity candles is left lit
through the rest of the ceremony. If there are children of the bride or groom
they are sometimes given extra tapers to light and then they are also included
in the lighting of the candles. Symbolizing a joining or uniting of the
families. If mother's candles are chosen to use, those are given to the mothers
as a remembrance of their children special day, for them to keep. Extra tapers
may also be used for step parents to light and so on.

Memorial candles may be chosen to use if a loved one, that has passed
away is to be remembered as having a special place in the minds and hearts of
the bride and groom on this day. A photo with a poem or saying may be used on
these type of candles.
Our lovely Hand Carved Wedding Candles are made one at a time especially for
you, you pick the colors, design and poem ,picture or announcement, that you
want on your candle. We will custom match colors or put up to 2 different colors
and white or ivory on the candle you select. All at no extra charge to you.

The Unity Candle can come with or without tapers and we also make matching
Mother's candles for the mothers to light and keep as their special remembrance
of you wedding day. Mother's candles also come with a glass votive so they may
be used as well.
All the wicks in the glass votives are Fiberglass so they never need
replacing as they do not burn away. They do burn paraffin lamp oil which we also
carry or you can get unscented oil at Wal-mart. Each candle comes with
instructions on how to use it.
